Machon L'Torah, The
Jewish Learning Network of
Michigan and Arachim of
Israel will present a program
with Zvi Inbal called "Is the
Torah a Human Document?"
Inbal uses a computer
technique confirming the
authenticity of the Torah. He
will discuss current events
"coded" in the Torah, fulfill-
ed prophecies, and ar-
chaeological findings.
The event will be held May
23 at Machon L'Torah. For in-
formation call the Machon of-
fice, 967-0888. There is a
charge.
Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz,
Director of Machon L'Torah,
announced the spring
semester of JudaiCollege
educational program will
open June 4 with a lecture on
environmental responsibility
from a Jewish perspective
called "Styrofoam, Blessing
or Curse?"
JudaiCollege is based at
Machon L'Torah's Learning
Center. There is no charge.

Hillel Day School won first
prize in the day school
category in the recent Israel
Quiz Bowl at the Jewish Com-
munity Center. Hillel's team
included Mitchell Zeff, Yaniv
Golombek, Jonathan Gold-
berg, and alternates Aaron
Fidler and Jeremy Kass.
Team adviser was Ella
Moskowitz.
Second place went to the
Temple Israel team, compris-
ed of Jeffrey Bagdade, Jen-
nifer Bodzin, Robyn Stern
and alternates Jerome Crane
and Michael Pidler. Teacher
Wendy Sadler was the team
adviser.
Tied for third were the Thrn-
ple Israel Orchard Lake
Branch and Adat Shalom
Synagogue's religious school.
Members of the Temple Israel
team, directed by Sadler, were
Cherly Auster, Brian Raf,
Layne Sakwa and alternate
Shayna Loss. Tamar Traub
was the teacher for the Adat
Shalom team which included
Steven Gill, Ilana Douville,
Jolan Terner and alternates
Brian Ablitz and Matt Droze.
Temple Kol Ami took first
place in the afternoon school
division. Teacher Elissa Berg
directed team members Amy
Levine, Julie Kates and alter-
nate Matthew Daniels.
Participants in the quiz
bowl were asked to answer
questions about Israel's

geography and history and to
identify Israeli landmarks.
Sponsored by the Israel Pro-
gram Center of the Jewish
Welfare Federation, the quiz
bowl also included the par-
ticipation of Akiva Hebrew
Day School, Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses, Beth Shalom,
Shaarey Zedek and Temple
Beth El religious schools.
Ampal stock certificates
went to first place winners,
while second and third place
winners received books on
Israel.

Aish HaTorah Sets
Lunch And Learn

Aish HaTorah/Aleynu has a
weekly Lunch and Learn in
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion at 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays
to discuss the six chapters of
Ethics of the Fathers. The
class is taught by Rabbi Alon
Tolwin, executive director of
Aish HaTorah. A kosher
lunch is available. There is no
charge.
Aish HaTorah/Aleynu in
conjunction with the National
Jewish Outreach Program of
New York will offer a crash
course in basic Jewish con-
cepts. The crash course in
Basic Judaism will consist of
five sessions dealing with
God, prayer, Sabbath, Jewish
observance and sexuality. The
first class will be at 8 p.m.
May 23 in the Aleynu office.
There is no charge. For infor-
mation, call the Aish
HaTorah office, 948-6900.

B'nai Moshe Sets
Family Program

Congregation
B'nai
Moshe's Golden Dreams
Nursery School and new Sun-
day school will 'hold a family
get-together for parents and
children interested in atten-
ding either school from 5 to 7
p.m. May 20 at the Maple-
Drake Jewish Community
Center.
The event will begin with a
picnic dinner; parents are
asked to bring their own
kosher food. Following the
dinner, nursery school
teachers will conduct art pro-
jects and a story hour for the
children. Adults will meet
school director Robin
Meyerowitz, Rabbi Allan
Meyerowitz, and teachers to
find out about the programs
offered in the fall,including
extended hours for working
parents.
