THE SEVENTY-FIRST ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTIONS OF THE AGENCY FOR JEWISH EDUCATION Attention Ladies: will take place MONDAY, JUNE 11, 1990 7:30 p.m. SPORTSWEAR MANUFACTURER'S ethnic group, nationality, religion or race. It is a global responsibility. Each human being is responsible for themselves and what they choose to do to help humanity. lb begin with, all people are equal and must be treated as such; no matter what their religion, race or socio- economic background may be. This way of thinking is not just a philosophy, it is way of life. It has to be, or else, it does not work. Each individual has to embrace this way of liv- ing for us to make any sense of our world. Part of the Jewish heritage was when my people were not only not treated equal, but they weren't even treated as human beings during the time of Adolf Hitler. We can no longer sit back and watch while some of these horrible crimes continue to go on. Education and awareness of these problems is our best prevention. With a new decade ahead of us, We have the power to change the world. If we con- tinue to murder, create war, poverty, hunger and pollute the earth, we will destroy life as we know it. Or we can stop, and make each person aware that they can make a dif- ference. Roeper, a humanistic school that I attend, is dedicated to basic philosophies of life. The school's philosophy is one to live by, "That you help people not because of charity, but because they are entitled to it, that just a little more love and understanding would make the world a better place to live, and that people should be committed to justice, rather than power?' These are words that have deep mean- ing for me. I live by those words each and every day of my life. Unfortunately, there are people in the world that do not. There are people that have so much rage and anger that they can't begin to em- CLOSEOUT SALE In the Louis and Esther LaMed Auditorium In the United Hebrew Schools Building 21550 West Twelve Mile Road, Southfield • Stock Overruns • Garments to paint and applique • Specialty fabrics by the yard The Nominations Committee presents the following slate: Neal Zalenko President Dr Joseph Epel First Vice-President Second Vice-President ..... . . . .
