At $280,900, the median price for a Honolulu home is about $20,000 more than second-place San Francisco. Orange County, Calif., was third at nearly $250,000; Los Angeles was fourth at $217,000. The survey showed the median price of a Honolulu home would buy six homes in Peoria, Ill., which had the nation's lowest median price. The national median for the fourth quarter of 1989 was $92,000, about a third of Honolulu's cost.
