In Hands Of Family
DANNY RASKIN
Local Columnist
w
hen he was liv-
ing, Harry Kosins
earned the respect
of clothing designers the na-
tion over . . . But his heart
and dreams were here.
Now the greatest of his
wishes has come true . . . and
it was accomplished by two
people who could be con-
sidered closest to him in
business . . . Brother Ben,
now sole owner of Kosins
Clothes, and Nancy Chris-
tiansen, executive vice presi-
dent and Harry's right hand
gal, a Kosins stalwart for 14
years.
The addition he wanted for
sportswear is now at the
Southfield store . . . so are the

marble floors, oak floor in the
designer room, outside mar-
ble entrance, etc.
Dad Max was at Yale
Cleaners & Dyers downtown
when wife Helen said he was
too good to work for someone
else . . . So he opened
Downtown Cleaners in 1925
that later became Kosins
Clothes on Griswold, where
Benny used to pass out
Kosins blotters at office
buildings while working for
his dad.
Move to the northwest was
1979 . . . and their Big & Tall
store was opened five years
ago.
One of Harry's fondest
hopes also has been realized
. . . that Kosins Clothes would
always remain in the Kosins
family.

now and grandmother Pearl

Sara and Tami, are with the

IT WAS comedy star Nor-
ma Zager's birthday when
she was booked into Bally's in
Las Vegas on Dec. 14, 1988
. . . A year later, also on her
birthday, Norma was again at
Bally's . . . to tape a
Showtime Comedy Club
Cable Network show.
It will be shown on
Showtime May 11 . . . the
17th birthday of her and hub-
by Michael's daughter,
Laurie.

edy show on cable which was

SEEING RABBI M.
Robert Syme perform a wed-
ding ceremony is a rare treat
. . . He makes everyone, even
the nervous couple, so at ease
with his bits of humor . . . and
this is really what a wedding
is all about . . . the start of a
new life in a festive
atmosphere.
It's also so wonderful hear-
ing Rabbi Syme many times
telling newlyweds about his
marrying their mothers and
fathers . . . Sort of gives him
the title of our community's
"generations rabbi."
WELL, HERE'S one way
to get into business . . . try
something out and fall in love
with it . . . That's what hap-
pened to Carolyn Krieger-
Cohen, after six years as a
radio station promotion
director.
Debra Waldman and Dean-
na Greenberg did her wed-
ding last June and Carolyn
became such a fan of theirs
that she is now representing
Invitational Art's line.
It's either that the two gals
have fine products . . . or
Carolyn looks on them as the
good luck charm for her suc-
cessful marriage. 0
