AJCongress Offers
Tour With Kids
A vacation in Israel with
the kids is possible. As a mat-
ter of fact, it's easy with a
new, innovative trip to Israel
designed especially for
families with young children.
Called "Israel with the
K*I*D*S," this 15-day trip,
introduced by the
AJCongress International
Travel Program for the first
time, offers activities aimed
at toddlers through early bar-
mitzvah age children, allow-
ing parents to have a much
needed vacation while
creating an Israeli touring ex-
perience for the whole family.
The tour, which departs
Aug. 20, gives parents the op-
portunity to see the sights of
Israel yet still spend time
with their children.
After two days for parents
and children to familiarize
themselves with their new
environment, the young
children participate in
specially-designed day pro-
grams, similar to day camps,
at both the Dan Accadia
Hotel in Herzliya and the
Hyatt Regency Hotel in
Jerusalem. Professional
counsellors and sports in-
structors lead them through
activities, including arts and
crafts, puppet shows, magic
shows, drama classes, bingo,
story-telling, basic Hebrew
lessons, folk-dancing and
singing, and short trips as
well as a full array of sports.
Both hotels have children's
and adult's pools.
Children are encouraged to
do some touring with their
parents. Flexible touring
schedules allow both parents
and children to sightsee
together for part or all of the
day. Even the very young get
to leave Israel with memories
of some of the key historical
and strategic sights.
Bar and bat mitzvahs are
also arranged, complete with
an exciting ceremony at the
Western Wall; in addition to
gifts and congratulatory cer-
tificates, the bar or bat mitz-
vah celebrant will receive an
AJCongress certificate for a
free trip to Israel on his/her
26th birthday.
The AJCongress tour in-
cludes a welcome get-
together, a picnic and folklore
beach party at Caesarea, a
folklore party in Jerusalem, a
visit to Masada and swim in
the Dead Sea and a gala
farewell dinner.
