The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva held it at his home here last week. And while it was traditional in every aspect, most of the guests were non-Jews. A military spokesman said a Dabour-class gunboat on routine patrol intercepted a dinghy, which failed to re- spond to warning shots and orders to stop. The dinghy, which ap- peared to be ferrying ter- rorist infiltrators to Israel, was fired on. The Israeli gunboat came under fire from the Lebanese beach for about three hours while searching for sur- vivors and wreckage.
