Two Richmonds
Reach 'Bo Dan'

Brothers Eric and Scott
Richmond of Farmington
Hills are the first two Jewish
members of the Michigan
Blackbelt Academy in their
age group to earn the bo dan
black belt in Choi Kwang Do
martial arts.
Eric, 12, and Scott, 11,
were tested in March by nin-
th-degree black belt Grand
Master Kwang Jo Choi,
founder of the martial art
form. Choi Kwang Do is
similar to Tae Kwon Do, but
is said to allow greater flexi-
bility of the joints.
The boys, who enrolled at
the Farmington school three
years ago, will be tested
later this year for their first
degree black belts, which
will confirm their status.
