LISTENING POST1 A Wonderful Tribute To Father And Friend DANNY RASKIN Local Columnist T ;-= hey wouldn't let Dan Rappaport leave until he had heard his favorite song one more time. Frank Sinatra couldn't be at Ira Kaufman Funeral Chapel in person, so a tape of him singing "The Music Never Ends" was played. It was a wonderful tribute to a man who loved the philosophies of life, because the song's words held such a meaningful place in his heart. And Dan, always the proud father, had to be even more prideful of his two daughters, Jill Rappaport and Linda Solomon . . . Following Can- tor Harold Orbach and Rabbi M.Robert Syme, they eulogiz- ed their dad . . . not of how great a man he was . . . Dan wouldn't have liked that .. . but with stories and letters in a most touching adieu to him. Wherever he is now, Dan is "The Music Never Ends" was so appropriate. probably still telling about his and Mona's two daughters . . . Though he has departed, Dan's love for them will never die. CONGRATS . . . to Regina Frumkin . . . on her 90th birthday . . . The former Detroiter came here from Washington, D.C. for recent house party given by son and daughter-in-law, Sid and Marilyn Frumkin . . . Over 40 family members came from many parts of the United States and Canada to help Regina celebrate her wonder- ful brithday. Sonny Goldstein as usual the hard-working chairman .. . Inevitable that sooner or later Charlie Robinson would come out of retirement after 30 years as a top Shell gas sta- tion gent . . . This time, after five years, Charlie now drives cars for a company that has him driving filled tanks in- stead of his working the pumps or whatever . . . Saul Horowitz with the great Florida tan . . . Soon-to-be married men's clothier Max Green bemoaning fact that no more ice cream, pop corn or hot dogs for the kids . . . And guess what? . . . There were plenty of bagels, lox and cream cheese at the volunteer's morning brunch . . . even with other Shriners taking sandwiches to workers.
