The Hilberry Repertory
Theatre will present David
Mamet's adaptation of Anton
Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, April
21, following an April 20
preview and continuing in
rotating repertory through
May 19.
Through humor and irony,
Chekhov and Mamet expose
universal human qualities by
looking at an extended fami-
ly sharing a summer home.
When Uncle Vanya's pompous
brother-in-law, Serebryakov,
and his beautiful new wife
Yelena move in, it sets in mo-
tion a maze of tensions,
romantic entanglements and
family crises.
There is a charge. For infor-
mation, call the Hilberry
Theatre box office, 577-2972.
