volunteers who do home
studies and testify in court as
to the best possible placement
for children in need of a legal
guardian. The adult legal
guardianship CASA's do in-
vestigations and testify to try
to protect elderly people in
legal guardianship situations.
Legal guardian workers
work in pairs and receive
assignments from the probate
attorney's office. They are pro-
vided with legal authority to
investigate proposed homes
and interview all interested
parties. A recommendation is
submitted to the court, and
the team gives testimony in
court.

NCJW Plans
CASA Program

The National Council of
Jewish Women, Greater
Detroit Section, will hold a
two-day combined training
session for its Court Ap-
pointed Special Advocate pro-
grams from 9:30 a.m. to noon
April 26-27.
The April 26 meeting will
take place at the NCJW of-
fices in Southfield, and the
April 27 training will be held
at the Oakland County
Courthouse.
The CASA children's pro-
gram consists of trained
