trictly kosher for Pass-
over locations this year
can be found as far
away as Hawaii, and in such
other parts of the world as the
Dominican Republic, Hun-
gary and Acapulco. On this
continent places like Cape
Cod, Arizona and Florida will
welcome Passover visitors.
Many resorts on the east
coast, and some on the west
coast, as well as a Caribbean
cruise, will all be kosher for
Passover.
The Passover celebration in
Hawaii will take place at the
Sheraton Moana Surfsider
hotel, in Waikiki Beach. Lux-
ury accommodations, tradi-
tional seders, and planned ac-
tivities are part of the
package.
The Eurotel Beach Resort
in Puerto Plata, Dominican
Republic, offers many extras
as part of the Passover
package. Located in a garden
setting, the hotel has a
synagogue on the premises
for Passover, a fully staffed
day camp, a casino, water ski-
ing and many other sports. A
world class chef will prepare
the meals.
Passover in Mexico will be
celebrated at the Acapulco
Plaza, and two 21-day
Passover package tours are
available in Hungary. The
first one includes a complete
spa treatment, and stays in
Debrecen and Budapest. The
second package, centered
mainly in Debrecen and
Budapest, includes a week in
Israel.
On this continent, on the
east coast, Shlomo Carlebach
will conduct the seders at the
Rye Town Hilton, from where
one can go into New York ci-
ty for the day. The hotel is
making this easier by offering
well stocked box lunches.
In Cape Cod, Massachu-
setts, the Tara Hyannis Hotel
will have strictly kosher
Passover accommodations,
and in Vermont Passover will
be observed at the Ascutney
Mountain Resort.
Both the Tamiment Resort,
and the Split Rock Resort, in
the Pocono Mountains, will be
kosher for Passover. Mt. Airy
Lodge, in the Poconos, has a
lot to offer guests seeking
sports and cultural activities,
and programs for children
and teens. An eruv, Sabbath
elevator and Torah lectures
are part of the package. There
are 21 tennis courts, free ice
skating and skate rentals, an

olympic swimming pool,
horseback riding, golf and
free boating and sailing, as
well as lessons in Simcha
Dancing with Atara, producer
of a video on the subject.
In the Catskills, the Nevele
Hotel will be completely ko-
sher for Passover. Among the
other hotels in the area open
for Passover are the Concord
and the Homowack.
Florida, as always, is popu-
lar for Passover. In Miami
Beach the Eden Roc, Fon-
tainebleau and Clarior Castle
will provide a strictly kosher
Passover on the southern
coast. A Passover spa holiday
is being prepared for guests to
the Bonaventure Resort in
Fort Lauderdale. The 10-day
package, which includes
unlimited entry to the spa
and fitness center, has such
options as private seder
rooms for large family groups,

two golf courses, -23 tennis
courts, three swimming pools
and horseback riding. Super-
vised programs for children
and for infants, a synagogue
and Torah lessons, are some of
the extras.
Staying in Miami for
Passover means access to
many cultural activities in
April. The Hirschfeld
Theater, at the Clarion Cas-
tle hotel, is popular for its
staging of Broadway
musicals. Miami's famous
Coconut Grove Playhouse will
show the comedy-drama, The
Boys Next Door, and Noel
Coward's Hay Fever will be at
the Caldwell Theater, in Boca
Raton. The wonderful com-
edy, I'm Not Rapaport, will be
at the Ruth Forman Theater.
For music, the New World
Symphony will play Schubert
and Debussy at the Gusman
Center on April 12, and
guitarist Carlos Montoya will
perform at the Theater of Per-
forming Arts on April 15. The
Concert Association of
Greater Miami will bring
soprano Jessye Norman,
April 14, as part of the
Prestige Series, to the Dade
County Auditorium.
