school reunion . . .
the one by Vanden-
berg Elementary School in
Detroit for anyone over 30
who attended at Trojan off
Eight Mile and James
Couzens.
A lot of nostalgia is being
wrapped up into the shindig
tentatively set for June 9 as
an old fashioned ice cream
social like the days of
yesteryears when the
students who attended
Vandenberg had them as an-
nual events.
It'll be quaintly held in
the Vandenberg Elementary
School gym . . . with casual
dress . . . One of the teachers,
Ann Faigin, who taught
kindergarten, first and se-
cond grades, has saved most
of the stories written by her
youngsters of 30 years ago.
The committee, made up of
Michelle Nickin Losonci,
Elyn Egren Charlupski, Bar-
bara Weinstein Hertz, Ilona
Helfman, Hank Greenwald,
Manny Glazier, Linda Rap-
paport Solomon, Carl Balen-
sky, Kenny Popper and Gary
Kaufman, have hopes for at
least 300 attending.
