( NEWS) Accused Nazi's Home Seized Toronto (JTA) — The home of accused Nazi war criminal Imre Finta has been ordered seized and sold, to help pay off legal debts incurred when he launched a libel suit against a television net- work. After hearing that Finta owes at least $240,000 in legal costs to the Canadian Television Network (CTV), Justice Jean MacFarland of the Supreme Court of On- tario has directed the sheriff's office to take over Finta's suburban Toronto house. Finta, whose war-crimes trial has received substan- tial publicity, sued CTV over allegations made in a 1983 broadcast, but dropped the action in 1986. Finta, 77, is on trial on charges of manslaughter, kidnapping, confinement and robbery in connection with 8,617 Hungarian Jews in 1944.
