Community Council
Plans Its Elections

Paul D. Borman has been
nominated for a third term as
president of the Jewish Com-
munity Council of
Metropolitan Detroit.
A slate of officers and in-
dividuals to fill board of direc-
tors seats was announced
March 28 at the Council's
Community Assembly. Elec-
tion of officers will be held at
the annual meeting in May.
Vice presidential can-
didates are Alexander
Blumenberg, Rabbi Richard
C. Hertz and Jeannie Weiner.
Berl Falbaum is nominated
as secretary, and Allan Zem-
mol as treasurer.
Slated to fill three-year
terms on the board of direc-
tors are Morris Baker, Bea
Breiner, Robert Brown, Mar-
tin Doctoroff, Charlotte
Edelheit, Rabbi E.B. Freed-
man, Lois Granader, Jody
Jacobs, Barry Keller, Diane
Klein, Brian Kott, Rabbi
David Nelson, Dulcie
Rosenfeld, Hermine Silver,
Leon Warshay, Andrew Zack
and Ann Zousmer. Ellen
Labes is nominated for a two-

year term, and Eric Can-
vasser for one year.
Additional nominations
may be made by petition sign-
ed by at least five qualified
Jewish Community Council
delegates. Petitions must be
accompanied by a signed
statement by the nominee
and received at the Council
office by April 9.

Hosts Comay

American Jewish Commit-
tee National President
Sholem Comay will speak at
a reception 3 to 5 p.m. April
1 at\ Temple Emanu-El. His
topic will be "American
Jewry's Concerns for the
1990s."
There is no charge but
reservations are required. For

Comay is a member of the
President's Council of
Brandeis University and is
treasurer of the United
Jewish Federation of
Pittsburgh.
