A musical program that
pianist Flavio Varani per-
formed to a sold-out audience
in Paris will be repeated at
Oakland University 3 p.m.
March 25 in Varner Recital
Hall.
Varani, artist-in-residence
in the OU Department of
Music, Theatre and Dance,
will perform works by
Rameau, Schumann, Ravel
and Villa-Lobos.
The "Parisan Holiday" con-
cert is the second in the Vir-
tuoso Piano Series sponsored
by the Center for the Arts.
Varani, a native of Brazil, has
been with Oakland Universi-
ty since 1972.

String Quartet
To Perform

The Cleveland Quartet,
sponsored by the Chamber
Music Society of Detroit, will
perform at Detroit's Or-
chestra Hall 7 p.m. March 25.
Now entering its third
decade on the international
music scene, the Cleveland
Quartet is recognized as a
premier string quartet. This
season, William Preucil joins
the Cleveland Quartet as its
new first violinist. The other
members are Peter Salaff,
violin; James Durnham,
viola; and Paul Katz, cello.

Aleynu Sees
'Rumors'

Aish HaTorah/Aleynu will
host an evening out to see
Neil Simon's Rumors opening
night at the Fisher Theater,
7 p.m. March 27.
The evening will begin with
a pre-glow reception to which
the cast has been invited on
the 11th floor of the Recess
Club followed by show-time at
8 p.m.
The play features Peter
Marshall of "Hollywood
Squares" and Patty McCor-
mack of The Bad Seed.
