The Hillel Foundation at
the University of Michigan —
Ann Arbor, will host the
Eleventh Annual Conference
on the Holocaust March
17-March 22.
Various music and theatre
performances, films, lectures,
and discussion groups will be
held at Hillel addressing the
history of and modern reflec-
tions on the Holocaust. All
events will take place at
Hillel and are open to the
public. There is a charge.
Weapons of the Spirit
(Pierre Sauvage 1988) will be
shown at 7:45 p.m. and 9:45
p.m. March 17.
Claudia Stevens "An Even-
ing with Madame F." will be
7:30 p.m. March 18. This
presentation is based on
Fania Fenelon's account of
her life as a musician at
Auschwitz.
Talk To Us presents "That
Again" at 8 p.m. March 19.
The theatre troupe will con-
front the Holocaust.
"The United States and the
Holocaust" will be the topic of
a Brown Bag Discussion at
noon March 20. Professor
Sidney Fine will lead a
discussion on the role of the
United States during the
Holocaust.
Because Of That War (Ben-
Dor Niv, 1988) will be shown
at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. This is a
documentary about the im-
pact of the Holocaust on
children of survivors.
Evening With Survivors
will be held 7:30 p.m. March
21 with women survivors of
the Holocaust.
Our Thoughts on the
Holocaust will be the topic of
a Brown Bag Discussion at
noon March 22.
Dieter Georgi, professor of
Protestant Theology (New
Testament) in the Depart-
ment of Religious Studies at
the University of Frankfurt,
will speak on "Rethinking
Christian Ethics in Light of
the Holocaust" at 7 p.m.
March 22. Georgi has been a
critic of traditional Christian
ethics, citing the Holocaust as
evidence of the failure of
Christian ethics. An inter-
faith Commemorative Ser-
vice, in memory of those who
perished and in honor of those
who survived will preceed the
lecture.
