Romance is chic once more.
Classic cocktails.
Luxurious cuisine.
Sensuous swirling rhythms.
Memories are made of this.

of the ladies' room plus other
areas of the restaurant.
In the Excalibur restrooms
are those famous battery-
operated seats with changing
sanitary sleeves at the push
of a button.
Linda brought me a bowl of
chicken soup that had been
made then and there from
scratch . . . a meal in itself
with chunks of chicken,
noodles, spinach, carrots and
turnips . . . full-bodied and
delicious.

No request within reason
for food at Excalibur is turn-
ed down if ingredients are in
the kitchen.
Excalibur is noted for its
fresh seafoods such as Maine
lobsters, from two to 30
pounds each; Dover sole;
Norwegian salmon; and
Florida stone crabs . . . Only
perch and whitefish are not
flown in because of their ac-
cessibility from the Great
Lakes regions . . . May 15,
Maryland soft shell crabs will
be featured.
After Linda brought me a
cold, crisp salad topped with
fresh mushrooms, I had the
Norwegian salmon. . . .
boneless, no underskin,
tender yet firm and the kind
that makes delicate taste
buds tingle with excitement.
Linda suggested fresh
strawberries for dessert .. .
and I'm glad she did.
Lunch time at Excalibur is
a sleeper bargain with choice
of soup or salad and potato or
rice . . . Also 14 sandwiches
available with the lowest pric-
ed $4 for a 1/2 pound ground
sirloin and pancho sauce.
Something I never knew .. .
Excalibur roasts its own
turkeys and slices them on
the $4.95 sandwiches . . . It's
not on the lunch menu, but if
someone wanted a fresh
turkey platter, he can have
one . . . good to know.
The location originally was
to be a Chinese restaurant,
but it never opened . . . Then
came the Zodiac Theater,
Hugo's, Brunetti's . . . and
finally to stay, Excalibur .. .
one of the best dining buys
around and among the few
places left where people can
dance and listen to
recognizable music.
One big happy family .. .
Not just the Excalibur
employees themselves . . .
From the looks of things now,
they'll have to share this with
their customers.
PEOPLE I REMEMBER
. . . Chef Geza Lang of the
beautiful long, circled
