I SYNAGOGUES I Yeshiva Beth Yehuda Names Yearbook Honoree Yeshiva Beth Yehudah has named Mrs. Flora S. Hoffman os the honoree for the Sally Allan Alexander Beth Jacob school yearbook of 1990. Flora S. Hoffman Mrs. Hoffman is a generous contributor and has recently made a charitable endowment to the Yeshiva as a memorial tribute to her beloved parents of blessed memory, Meyer and Bessie B. Beckman and daughter, Myra Jacqueline Hoffman. Throughout her college years, her daughter was an honor student and valedictorian of her class ; and ultimately, was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society — which Mrs. Hoffman attributes to the "wonderful background Myra received at the Yeshiva's Beth Jacob School." Beth El Hires Executive Director - Thomas Jablonski has been named executive director of Temple Beth El. Prior to this post, Jablonski served as executive director of Congregation Shaarey Zedek for nine years. From 1976 to Beth Achim Men Plan Service "Mrs. Hoffman has been a staunch supporter and dedicated patron of the Yeshiva for many years," according to Rabbi Norman Kahn, ex- ecutive vice-president of Yeshiva Beth Yehudah. And he asserts that she is "definitely, a special lady." The Men's Club of Con- gregation Beth Achim will conduct its annual Men's Club Shabbat 8:45 a.m. March 10. Talmud Group Will Meet A Talmud study group will meet at the home of Rabbi Louis Finkelman in Oak Park 8:30 p.m. March 18. The group will complete the second chapter of Bava Met- siah, dealing with the ramifications of the obliga- tion to return lost objects. In honor of completing this course of study, members of the group invite the public to a celebration at the home of Rabbi Finkelman. At the conclusion of the celebration the group will begin the study of the third chapter. The group is spon- sored by the B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundations of Metropolitan Detroit. There is no charge.
