Simon 50th
Mildred and Markus Simon
are celebrating their 50th
wedding anniversary. They
were married in Detroit on
March . 10, 1940, by the late
Rabbi Morris Adler. The
Simons have 10 children and
15 grandchildren.
Mildred received her
bachelor's degree from Wayne
State University and was a
medical technologist. She
taught in the Detroit Public
(-- Schools for more than 15
years after earning a
teaching certificate and
master's degree.
Markus graduated from
City College of Detroit, now
Wayne State University, and
has been a practicing at-
torney for more than 60 years.
He has been active in the
Criminal Bar Association.
The couple have been active
in temple, volunteer and com-
munity life. They are
members of Temple Kol Ami
and are founding members of
Temple Shir Shalom.
They are being honored
with a brunch given by their
children: Elizabeth and
Robert Tam, Lenore and
Caleb Simon, Deena and Ken-
neth Jones, Charlotte Ellen
and Melvin Natinsky, Samuel
and Amy Simon, Rachel and
Greg Pollack, Judith and
Daniel Simon, Silvia and
Kent Van Allen, Nancy and
Jonathan Simon and Miriam
Ruth Simon.
