THE GREAT
PURIM PARCEL
PROJECT
Sunday
March 11., 1990
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
* Shalach Manot — In his instructions to the Jews, Mordechai
told them to make Purim "days . . . of sending portions one to
another and gifts to the poor." In that spirit we send parcels with
at least two kinds of treats to our friends. A great way for you,
your family, chavurah group, or class to get into the spirit of Purim
and make others happy, too.
Here's What To Do:
Decorate many pretty plates. Include some fruit (dried or fresh),
nuts, wrapped KOSHER candy, or small packages of Elite wafers
or chocolates. At least two kinds of foods should be included
(no home-baked goods, please). Put each plate into a heavy duty
zip-lock bag.
Drop off your parcels at these locations:
• United Hebrew Schools
12 Mile road east of Lahser
• Fresh Air Society
Maple/Drake J.C.C.
• Jewish Community Center
JPM Building, Oak Park
Your parcels will be hand-delivered by members of local Jewish
youth groups and National Council of Jewish Women to:
• Shalom Detroit Newcomers
• Jewish Home for the Aged
• Sinai Hospital of Detroit
Borman Hall
• Jewish Meals on Wheels
Prentis Manor
