APRIL 9 - APRIL 17, 1990
scheduled the annual Palm
Beach dinner of the Anti-
Defamation League of B'nai
B'rith and the 35th annual
Palm Beach dinner of the
Albert Einstein College of
Medicine. The latter has
entertainment with per-
former Ben Vereen on the
agenda.
Other Breakers events in
the first half of February are
the annual Brandeis Univer-
sity Palm Beach brunch, and
Hadassah's Angel of Mercy
Luncheon. Planned for a few
days later at the Breakers is
the premiere gala reception of
the American Associates of
Ben-Gurion University of the
Negev.
Among the events at the
Breakers in the second half of
February will be a gala first
anniversity celebration of the
Palm Beach Chapter of
Friends of Akim, which is
under the patronage of the
Consul General of Israel in
Florida. Also attending will
be the Israel Ambassador to
the United Nations.
One of the most prominent
events at the Breakers is sure
to be the Black Tie Gala Din-
ner Dance, in February,
which celebrates the 65th An-
niversary of the Hebrew
University in Jerusalem. En-
titled A Celebration of Ex-
cellence, the gala will
feature New York governor
Mario Cuomo as the keynote
speaker.
The charitable functions,
only a small sample, add a
new dimension to the image
of Palm Beach as a symbol of
luxury living.
