In New York, Abraham
Foxman, national director of
the Anti- Defamation
League of B'nai B'rith, said
an ADL delegation met with
the West German justice
minister last month and was
told the Federal Republic
"would welcome" a Jewish
presence at the trial.
"I think that it is impor-
tant that the German
government sees that we
care enough," he said.
APEJ is a non-profit
organization, backed by
most Jewish organizations
in Belgium. It will publish a
four-page bulletin in French
five days a week and plans
in the near future to issue a
Flemish edition.
It also plans to serve the
small but active Jewish
community in Zaire, a
former Belgian colony. A
member of the Kinshasa
Jewish community, Jacques
Levy, is a member of the
board.

Georgia Team
Goes To Israel

Jerusalem — A five-man
team from the University of
Georgia's School of Forest
Resources is now in Israel to
plan joint projects with the
Jewish National Fund, the
JNF has announced. The
mission is headed by Dr.
Graham Brister, the school's
director for international
forestry.
The scientists want to use
Israel's experience of grow-
ing trees in arid conditions
for the benefit of Third
World countries.
Accompanying the delega-
tion is Mike Benge of the
Washington-based Agency
for International De-
velopment, which it is hoped
will help to finance some of
the projects.
Ecologist Lindsay Boring,
paying his first visit to
Israel, said Israel was the
only arid country where
forests were increasing in
size rather than
degenerating. He thought
work being done in Israel
could benefit a project he
was currently pursuing in
the West African state of
Senegal.
The visit of the Georgia
delegation was financed by
the local Jewish community,
after contact had been made
between the school and the
JNF emissary in
Washington.
