Feb 7. Survived by wife Anne;
children, David Moritz of
Royal Oak, Dr. Gilbert and
Barbara Weisman, Dr. Jay
and Judith Weisman, and
Helene Ryan; brother and
sister-in-law Meyer and
Mildred Moritz of Lauderhill,
Fla.; sister Jean Kaber of Oak
Park; 12 grandchildren and
one great-grandchild.

SHIRLEY ROSE, 67, of Oak
Park, died Feb. 11. She leaves
sons and a daughter-in-law,
Barry and Martha of West
Bloomfield, Jeff of Farm-
ington Hills, a daughter and
son-in-law, Rhonda Sue Rose
and Robert McCabe of
Hanover Park, Ill.; a brother
and sister-in-law, David and
Joy Kaplan of Southfield; and
nine grandchildren.

FRIEDA SCHWARTZ, 77,
of Oak Park, died Feb. 9. She
leaves her husband, Louis; a
son and daughter-in-law, Ar-
thur and Phyllis of West
Bloomfield; a daughter and
son-in-law, Shirley and Mar-
tin Band of Troy; her step-
mother, Helen Spector of
McKeesport, Penn.; step-
brothers, Melvin Spector of
McKeesport, Penn., and
Meyer Spector of McKeesport,
Penn.; and three grand-
children.

IRENE SHAPIRO, 88, of
Detroit, died Feb. 6. Survived
by son Wallace Kruger and
daughter-in-law Beverly
Kruger, both of Farmington
Hills; sister and brother-in-
law Florence and David Yovis
of Southfield; and one grand-
daughter.

JENNIE TUGMAN, 72, of
Southfield, died Feb. 9. Sur-
vived by son and daughter-in-
law Gerald and Judy Tugman
of Troy; brothers and sisters-
in-law Max and Sarah Berlin
of Southfield, Louis and
Evelyn Berlin of Southfield;
and sister and brother-in-law
Anne and Sam Solomon of
Los Angeles.

CHARLES WEISS, 83, of
Southfield, died Feb. 9. Sur-
vived by his wife, Lillian; son
and daughter-in-law Jay and
Betty Weiss of Deer Park,
Texas; daughter Bonnie Weiss

of Chicago, Ill.; brother Nor-
man Weiss of Oak Park; sister
and brother-in-law Helen and
Louis Goldberg of Los
Angeles; one granddaughter
and one great-granddaughter.

BESSIE WELLER, 81, of
Southfield, died Feb. 11. She
leaves her daughter, Carol
Silverstrom of Dallas, Texas;
and her sister, Dr. Polly Pevin
Curhan of Southfield.

ARNOLD WINE, 71, of West
Bloomfield, died Feb. 13. He
leaves his wife Shirley; a son
and daughter-in-law, Paul H.
Lindy; daughters and sons-in-
law, Roberta and Richard
London and Ellen and
Richard Ravreby; a brother,
Leonard; a sister and brother-
in-law, Betty and Leo Golds-
tein of Farmington Hills; and
six grandchildren.

SAMUEL YOUNG, 47, of
West Bloomfield, died Feb. 7.
He leaves his wife, Gail; sons
Michael and Robert; his
mother, Irene of Oak Park;
brothers and sisters-in-law,
Sidney and Rosalie of
Southfield, Leonard and Joan
of Phoenix, Ariz., and Larry
and Judie of West Bloomfield.

BELLA ZILBERT, 87, of
Huntington Woods, died Feb.
13. She leaves a daughter and
son-in-law, Marilyn and Dr.
Paul Lessem of Huntington
Woods; a sister and brother-
in-law, Esther and Paul Broad'
of Southfield and three
grandchildren.

Elsa Oppenheim

Elsa Freeman Oppenheim,
81, of Detroit, died Feb. 10.
Mrs. Oppenheim was a
member of Temple Beth El.
During World War II, she
was a major with the
American Women Volunteer
Service. She was a life
member of ORT, Brandeis
University Women and
Franklin Hills Country Club.
Mrs. Oppenheim attended
LaSalle College in
Massachusetts and received a
certificate in French studies
from the Sorbonne College in
Paris. She also attended the
University of Detroit Law
School.
Her grandfather owned
Eastside Electric Company,
which was sold to Detroit
Edison and her father was an
owner of Commonwealth
Bank.
She leaves her husband,
Royal; daughters and a son-
in-law, Valerine Oppenheim
Hart and Robert Hart of
Miami Beach, Patricia Op-
penheim Levin of Hallandale,
Fla.; eight grandchildren and
one great-grandson.
