ONE OF THE YEAR'S TEN BEST

Martin Grove - CNN - SHOWBIZ TODAY
Dixie Whatley - AT THE MOVIES

Jack Mathews - LOS ANGELES TIMES
Gary Franklin - KABC-TV

"...An extraordinary film..."

—Julie Salamon, WALL STREET JOURNAL

"The most stunning movie of
the decade. Riveting...
Not to be missed."

quest non-smoking but we do
not guarantee it. An apology
was extended, though
management did not appear
interested in accommodating
our needs."

Marlene Zeitlin

Letter to Marlene Zeitlin
. . . "We are sorry that we
could not accommodate your
request for a non-smoking
table on Saturday night. You
called well in advance and we
noted your reservation and
your request. That evening
all of our tables in the entire
restaurant were sold. There
was an unusually high de-
mand like yours and from
people walking in. As the
night progressed we added
tables to the non-smoking
area, almost doubling it. Un-
fortunately, at the time you
arrived there was only one
table, No. 41, left in the entire
restaurant. We sincerely try
to accommodate everyone's
wishes and needs and we
apologize that in this in-
stance we failed.
"Management did try to ac-
commodate you by explaining
that the tables surrounding
table No. 41 were not smok-
ing and that they would do
everything in their power to
seat non-smokers at the adja-
cent tables when they were
seated. Suffice to say this was
not satisfactory. Please accept
our apologies and understand
that we do try to accom-
modate our customers'
wishes."

Reid L. Ashton
President

In a letter to the column,
Reid Ashton states, "If we
had seated them at a non-
smoking table, there is a good
chance it would have abutted
a smoking table. The table we
offered them we were going to
pick and choose who sat next
to them, something we would
not do if they were at a non-
smoking table which was
next to a smoking table."
