Rabbi Yosil Rosenzweig has
been appointed rabbi of Con-
gregation Shaar HaShoma-
yim in Windsor.
Rabbi Rosenzweig, who
grew up in Windsor, was
educated in the Beth
Yehudah Schools in Detroit,
as well as yeshivot in New
York, St. Louis, Missouri,
Jerusalem Beit Din and
Yeshivah Toras Yisroel.
He lived in Winnipeg,
Manitoba, where he served as

gram consists of seven, two-
hour classes to prepare expec-
tant parents for labor and
delivery. Classes will be held

June 6 and July 19. There is

Rabbi Yosil Rosenzweig
regional director of the Cana-
dian Zionist Federation, Mid-
West Region. Rabbi Rosen-
zweig made aliyah to Israel in
1978 with his family.
He served as Education
Director of Gesher Educa-
tional Affiliates and co-
founded the Livnot U'lehiba-
not program in Safat, Israel.
He is an accomplished musi-
cian and composer; two of his
songs placed first in the
Israeli Chassidic Song
Festival.

Jewish parents prepare for
the arrival of their babies,

Couples will explore Hebrew
names, brit milah and nam-
ing ceremonies.
The program will feature
Rabbi Sherwin Wine of the
Birmingham Temple will pre-
sent an "International
Federation Sabbath" honor-
ing the International Federa-
tion of Secular Humanistic
Jews and the International
Institute for Secular Human-
istic Judaism 8:30 p.m. Feb. 9.
Yehuda Bauer, professor of
Holocaust studies at the
Hebrew University and chair-
man of the International
Federation and the Interna-
tional Institute, will discuss
"The Future of Israel."
Rabbi Wine will present the
second of three talks on the
theme "The Fall of the Com-
munist Empire" 8:30 p.m.
Feb. 12. His topic will be
"Poland, Czechoslovakia,
Hungary and Bulgaria."

Service Slated
Jerusalem — The Israel
Broadcasting Authority has
given Director-General Arye
Mekel 30 days in which to
get an English-language
television news program on
the air. The program was
originally scheduled to begin
on January 15.
Arabic Television head
Yosef Barel, whom Mekel
appointed as executive pro-
d-ucer of the English-
language news, said -it was
inconceivable that, given the
general anti-Israel bias in
foreign electronic media, no
attempt was being made
here to strike a balance.
