Four concerts will fill the
Detroit Institute of Arts'
"Brunch With Bach" in
February which take place
in the DIA's indoor garden
cafe, Kresge Court at 10 a.m.
and 11:30 a.m.
The Feb. 4 concert features
"Music of Dunner: A Song of
Spirituals," performed by
Carolyn Sebron, soprano,
Leslie B. Dunner, clarinet,
and Robert Conway, piano.
On Feb. 11 a special Val-
entine's concert will be
presented, featuring soprano
Earnestine Nimmons, mez-
zo-soprano Deborah Fitt-
sgibbon, tenor Randolph
Lacy, bass Sean Neal and
duo pianists Fedora
Horowitz and Joseph Gurt.
Pianist Louis Nagel will
perform Baroque music for
the keyboard on Feb. 18.
And Barbara Zmich, Brian
Bowman and Thomas M.
Kuras will perform Mozart's
Trio in E-Flat Major and
Clarke's Sonata for viola
and piano Feb. 25.

The B'nai B'rith Hillel
Foundation at University of
Michigan will present
"Voice of the Turtle: Great
Early Jewish Music," 8 p.m.
Feb. 3 in the Irwin Green
Auditorium, Hillel.
This quartet of multi-
instrumentalists has played
around the world with its
imaginative and evocative
performances of folk music
of Sephardim, the Jews of
Spain and Portugal.
Ashes and Diamonds, a
movie about a Polish
Resistance fighter who kills
the wrong man on the last
day of WW II, will be shown
7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Feb. 4 at
Hill Street Cinemas.

Brian Bedford
At Hilberry

Shakespearean actor
Brian Bedford brings his
one-man show, The Lunatic,
the Lover and the Poet, to the
stage of the Hilberry 8 p.m.
Jan 30, 31 and Feb. 1.
The show, conceived and
compiled by Bedford, was
first performed at the Strat-
ford, Ontario, Festival in
September 1989.
Bedford traces the chang-
ing attitudes of
Shakespeare, over his
lifetime, through passages
from Shakespeare's poems
and plays.
