ON CAMPUS I Students Host Israel Week The Jewish Students Organization/Hillel at Oak- land University will hold "A Peek at Israel Week," Jan. 29- Feb. 1 in Oakland Center. The first presentation, noon Jan. 29, will be a slide show and talk on "The Israeli Art Psyche," with local artist- photographer-lecturer Dean- na Mirsky Sperka. At noon Jan. 30, in the Fireside Lounge, Ahuva Newman, formerly of Haifa, will pre- sent "A Taste of Israel," a food demonstration. Also there will be a showing of "Rehov Sumsum," the Israeli version of "Sesame Street." On Jan. 31, at noon in Gold Room C, Yefet Ozery will speak about "The Salad Bowl," a talk on ethnic Jewish groups in Israel. On Feb. 1 at noon in the Fireside Lounge Dr. Donald Morse will speak on "Kiwi Fruit, Swimming Pools and Thinking," a discussion of work being done by Dr. Reuven Feuerstein, Israeli psychologist, on the teaching of intelligence. Detroit Monthly Magazine U-M Frats Host Dry Rush For the first time since Pro- hibition, fraternities at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor did not serve alcohol during rush festivities this past week. Interfraternity Council Vice President Eric Reicin said the ban was fully sup- ported by all of the campus' fraternities, which have ap- proximately 2,500 members. Sigma Alpha Epsilon Presi- dent Josh Greenblat, a junior from Birmingham said his fraternity has had Dry Rush since 1986.
