on African-American
heritage and culture. The
DIA's calendar of events in-
cludes a musical concert, lec-
tures, poetry readings,
theatrical performances and
self-guided tours.
A comedy-drama,
Sidewalk Stories, by in-
dependent filmmaker
Charles Lane, sheds light on
the plight of the homeless. It
headlines the DIA's month-
long schedule Feb. 2-4.
The Detroit Youtheatre
will present Music and the
Underground Railroad, 11
a.m. and 2 p.m. Feb. 3 and
Ishangi's Africa 11 a.m. and
2 p.m. February 17.
