HEBREW BENEVOLENT SOCIETY

The JCC Monthly Teen Dance Club

were permitted to eat meat.
After a lengthy discussion we
went out for a bite. I'm really
tired and it's almost 10:30. I
think I'm going to sleep ear-
ly tonight.
Gee, it feels great to just lie
down and relax. Now where
was I? Were we playing the
Lakers or the Celtics, was it
Magic or Larry Bird? . . .
Ding-a-ling. Ding-a-ling. Oh,
hi Liz. Of course I'll pick you
up for minyan tomorrow mor-
ning. By the way, Liz, LT.-

Parenting Institute
To Offer Courses

Registration for courses of-
fered as part of the Parenting
Institute program co-
sponsored by the Agency for
Jewish Education and Jewish
Experiences for Families is
being held.
The course, "Modern
Midrash: A Psychological
Look at the Bible," taught by
Rabbi Bruce Aft, director of
the Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies, will review
psychological stages in-
dividuals experience during
their lives and how biblical
personalities experience
these stages. The course will
meet at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays
for four weeks beginning Jan.
21.
"Sundowners II," a program
open to parents with pre-
school age children and their
siblings will be held at 6:30
p.m on Wednesdays, for four
weeks beginning Jan. 24.
Dinner is optional and is serv-
ed at 6 p.m. In this program,
parents and children can par-
ticipate in arts and crafts pro-
jects, music, storytelling,
cooking and gym activities.
Carol Gale, director of United
Hebrew Schools Nursery
School, is the instructor.
"Family Living Room," an
ongoing program, co-sonsored
by J.E.F.F. and National Con-
ference of Synagogue Youth,
is designed for parents and
teens who want to explore
contemporary issues from a
Jewish perspective. This
course is offered on Sundays,
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Through video tapes, films
and T.V. programs, family
members will discuss the
moral issues presented.
Registration is through the
Community Jewish High
School and is open to the
public.
All of the programs are held
at the United Hebrew Schools
building.
