Birmingham presents The
Trip to Bountiful, a drama-
comedy about a woman's
decision to return to her
childhood home, Jan. 26
through Feb. 4.

In the play, an English
duke uses his yacht, an-
chored off Long Island, to
transfer bootleg hooch to an
estate on shore owned by a
playboy. The duke has a
sister named Kay; the
playboy has too many
girlfriends and the result is
a melange of mistaken iden-
tities, impostors, revenue
agents and a happy ending.
The stage is set in Harlem
with flappers, bootleggers,
gamblers, Kay, Jimmy and
the Charleston.

Peter Pan
Flies To Detroit

The 35th Anniversary
production of the musical
Peter Pan, starring Olympic
Gold Medalist Cathy Rigby,
flies into the Fisher Theater
Feb. 20 through March 4.
The new Peter Pan, based
on Sir James M. Barrie's
1904 novel, is part of an 18-
city national tour.
