They're just not my bag or cup of tea when it comes to hitting the keys. But this one was an excep- tion . . . and it should be .. . because it was the kind Harry Kosins might have planned himself. He knew time was running out . . . and that sort of takes away a lot of the family pain and sorrow . . . Harry would quip like he was talking about a game, "Well, Danny, I beat it again" . . . First with heart surgery, then cancer .. . It was his ticker that finally called quits to Harry's charade. If it is true that Harry's spirit was looking on . . . and people like noted psychic Char Margolis believe so .. . then he saw a whale of a show in tribute to him. And it was to perfection .. . exactly as Harry would have wanted it. An overflow crowd well beyond capacity jammed every nook and cranny of Ira Kaufman Chapel . . . overflowing well into the lob- by . . . with people he made friends with throughout the years . . . from every walk of life . . . celebrities, fellow workers, friends, acquain- tances, boyhood pals and gals, etc. And his and Marilyn's three children each saying something about Dad. Rabbi Efry Spectre spoke some as a rabbi and mostly as a family friend . . . Harry would have smiled, too .. . unless he already was .. . along with the audience at some of Rabbi Spectre's comments. And don't think most of the fellows didn't get dressed up for Harry's funeral . . . How dare they not, he would say . . . plus adding, "I hope they bought their clothes at Kosins." CONGRATS ... to Jane Kasapis . . . on her birthday . . . to Izzy Malin . . . on his birthday . . . to Iz and wife Fran . . . on their 52nd anniversary. ON THE MOVE Dept. . . . Dr. Leslie Miller has moved her hypnotherapist practice, the Center For Positive Achievement, from Birm- ingham to Farmington Hills. CONGRATS ... to Ruth Weiss . . . on her birthday. At Carl's for dinner with hubby Harold, she was paged . . . It was son Dr. Allan Weiss call- ing from Laguna Hills, Calif. . . . "Happy birthday, Mom. Geri and I didn't know what to give you so we got you a new granddaughter, Sarah Joy, weighing 8 pounds, 9 ounces and 21 inches long" . . . Tell me, what better gift could they have given Ruth? TEMPLE BETH EL Sis- terhood's Party Planned Sur- prise is one big party in itself, Feb. 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the temple. 43 exhibitors . . . party planners, room decorators, stationers, photographers, caterers, confectioners, florists, limo and valet ser- He knew time was running out, and that removed a lot of family pain. vices, etc., answering all ques- tions about planning the best party possible. Elaine Sturman and Sue Lepler are co-chairwomen of the showcase, which last year was a first in this region, at- tended by over 1,800 people at no charge. GOLDEN . FINGERS Georgette Khouri is back .. . as the custom fitting and alterations expert for so many gals and guys . . . She calls it Jorjet & Co., at Sunset Strip on Northwestern Highway between 12 Mile and Inkster . . . Georgette will have a wine and cheese opening bash the entire week of Jan. 22-27. TO THE PERSON who wrote about a recent bar mitz- vah, sorry I can't use it . . . no name, address or phone number . . . All that hand- writing for nothing. Hey, readers, put your name and the other info on items sent to me . . . Chances are I won't use your name . . . and for sure if you say the word . . . The phone number is for any questions I may have. THE BEST thing to do behind a girl's back is whisper sweet words in her ear . . . George Burns says, "Two things are important in life — sex and laughs. I'm sorry I get them at the same time." . . . Burt Reynolds says, "I can look at a girl's future and tell what kind of past she's going to have." . . . Joey Adams says, "There's so much fooling around these days — the only way to avoid sex is to get married." ❑
