weather, office workers and
others sing out many praises
for the six salads, 15 sand-
wiches, five boboli specials,
four ponzis, five styles of ham-
burgers, Coney Islands, chili
dogs and regulars on a bun,
about 20 other lunch and din-
ner favorites, six three-egg
omelettes and a host of side
orders.

The awning over its door .. .
and across the entire
restaurant is a welcome sign
to Jane's Place, where three
very important assets exist
. . . home cooking, customer
health and satisfaction .. .
Who could ask for more?
"I DO" DEPT. . . . Tony
Belli of E.G. Nick's on Maple
and Debbie Blis are engaged
for a spring wedding.
NEW TITLE of Master
Chef Milos Cihelka at Golden
Mushroom, 10 Mile and
Southfield, is chief patron, or
chairman of the kitchen
board.
Returning to the Golden
Mushroom as chef de cuisine,
Steve Allen was in France
with the acclaimed Master
Chef Michel Guerard at
Eugenie les Baines . . .
Guerard is famed for Cuisine
Minceur (slim cuisine).
At Eugenie les Bains, Steve
was a "stagiare" for six
months, an unpaid employee
of the house . . . He worked
every station to learn the
total operation . . . Golden
Mushroom owners Reid
Ashton and Milos hope a lot
has rubbed off on Steve .. .
and that his learning will be
implemented at the popular
Southfield dining spot.
Milos will spend more time
with new concepts, creative
food presentations and the ex-
perimentation with fresh
ideas.
BARGAIN BARREL . .
coupons are now in The
Jewish News for a free dinner
at Dimitri's of Southfield,
Southfield just north of 10
Mile . . . It's with purchase of
a second dinner seven days a
week on everything except
sea bass and lamb chops .. .
Naturally on liquor, too.
ZEMAN'S BAKERY on
Greenfield between 10 Mile
and Lincoln has sign for all to
see . . . "No Palm Oil, No
Coconut Oil, No Cholesterol"
in its baking with pure
vegetable oil or shortening.
Whatever Morris Weiss and
his staff do, it's taken them to
the top in the local baking
world . . . His New York onion
rolls are so good that Zeman's
used to run out . . . Now

they're made in large quan-
tities and already packaged
for sale . . . with plenty on
hand but still going fast .. .
Very difficult to beat those
New Yorkers at Zeman's.
IMAGINE $6.95 for a com-
plete 8 oz. prime rib dinner
. . . Shades of yesteryears
with that kind of pricing .. .
and we're talking about a
good cut of meat . . . It's
Fridays, Saturdays and Sun-
days at the new Marriott
Hotel on Northwestern
Highway service drive by
Lahser, across from the Mar-
riott's Courtyard stopovers.
This is a beautiful property,
with about 227 rooms . . . and
a 2,816-square-foot Grand
Ballroom.
NUMBER THREE . . .
another "Michigan The
Bountiful" gourmet ex-

cold hors d'oeuvres, salad, en-
tree, pastry, etc., with at-
tendees sampling the cuisine.

first 1,000 and sold on first-
come, first-served basis.

26.

" 'Enemies, A Love Story' achieves a complexity of feeling, a richness of tone that
Hollywood movies rarely even try for...Ron Silver gives a subtle, fiercely
contained performance that never asks for sympathy but somehow earns it
Anjelica Huston is wry, stirring and powerful... Stein is both touching and
funny, and Lena Olin is astonishing here... In scene after scene 'Enemies'
catches you by surprise. It's not like any other movie." —David Ansen. NEWSWEEK
