he opening of another
dream could be term
for new party room by
Cafe Cortina on 10 Mile east
of Orchard Lake Road, owned
by Rina and Adrian() Tonon.
When Cafe Cortina, the
fine Italian restaurant, was
built in 1976 as a free-
standing building, it cost less
than $300,000 including a
large kitchen.
European-styled
The
Garden Room cost $300,000
. . . without the kitchen.
Adriano's dream of one-day
building the room could have
been the reason for his and
Rina's big kitchen . . . It is
able to take care of both the
restaurant and Garden Room
with ease.
The Garden Room, seating
up to about 80, plus a private
patio with an eight-foot high
brick wall and climbing
vines, is excellent for small
weddings, showers and other
functions.
It faces 10 Mile with six
double sets of oak-stained
mahogany French doors that
open into the Garden Room
courtyard.
' The Euro-classic fixtures
are beautiful in their
simplicity . . . with brass mat-
ching handles on the French
doors, above which is beveled
glass.
This is the five-year
culmination of thought .. .
every year turning down par-
ties because Cafe Cortina's
only other private room
capacity is 30.
The party rooms are on
separate sides of the fine
restaurant . . . Its new
Garden Room has a yellow
brick with special sand-like
particles that seem to sparkle
with the lights . . . Chairs are
the same comfortable ones as
those in the restaurant.
Probably the biggest thing
going for Cafe Cortina's new
Garden Room is its simple
elegance . . . nothing preten-
tious or fancy . . . and of
course a separate private door
that leads directly into the
room . . . not the restaurant.
Adriano's dream of a

who spent three years as
manager at Southfield Manor
on Telegraph Road.
Another true feeling of this
beautiful Middle Eastern
restaurant is upgraded with
the addition of Israeli wines
and forthcoming Israeli
dishes . . . Also on the new
menu will be steaks, lobster
tails and varied cuisines for
those wishing other that Mid
Eastern dining . . . Also low-
priced and "hurry-up"
lunches.
Tony speaks Hebrew fluent-
ly as well as Arabic and
English and admits to only 50
percent Italian and French,
understanding more than
speaking them . . . He is
highly versed in the catering
field as well as having an
ability to do everything from
host to whatever in the
kitchen.
The Sultan's elegant in-
terior of marble, gray, white
and black tones, frosted etch-
ed glass, brass railings and
fixtures, soft well-appointed
framed pictures, etc., includes
a large mural over the bar, a
smaller version of which co-

hangs in his home.
