image-building, Ross says.
He already has two major
businesses interested in
what he calls these "angel
flights."
Ross does admit to a hobby
that has nothing to do with
his usual 16-hour days at
work: camping.
Ross and his wife are
members of Shalom
Campers, which he describes
as "just a bunch of Jewish
friends who like to go out
camping." Out in the
wilderness, far from the
refineries and planes, "life
becomes very, very, very un-
complicated," Ross says.
But even Ross can stand
only so much rest and relax-
ation. Inevitably, he is
drawn back to the IFL Group
and the business drawing
board.
Ross says he is quick to
admit that not all his ideas
have been a success. But
luck has never been a part-
ner in any of those ventures
that did prove prosperous,
Ross says.
"I'm long past giving
anyone or good luck credit
for what I've accomplished,"
Ross says. "I did it my-
self." 111

Marrow Donor
Is Needed

New York (JTA) — The
plight of Allison Atlas, a 20-
year-old with a rare form of
leukemia, has turned the
spotlight on the need for
Jews to join the national
data bank of bone marrow
donors.
Atlas, a college student
from Bethesda, Md., has no
chance for remission and her
only hope lies in finding a
donor whose tissue type is
perfectly matched to hers, in
order to undergo a bone
marrow transplant. None of
her family members were
found to have matching
tissue.
The odds of two unrelated
persons having matching
tissue is one in 15,000. It is
even more unlikely for
tissue types to cross ethnic
lines. Therefore, because
Atlas is Jewish, her best
chance for a tissue match is
from someone of Jewish
origin.
