And in Michigan, Debbie K. Schlussel is running for the state assembly. Schlussel, a conservative Republican, was the second youngest delegate to last year's Republican National Convention. Exon Asks Arab Leaders To Reject U.N. Bill Sen. James J. Exon, D- Neb., is a man who knows how to get the attention of the pro-Israel community. During a recent swing through California, Exon decided to add his two cents James J. Exon: No responses. to the renewal of interest in the United Nations 1975 "Zionism as Racism" resolu- tion. In letters to 15 ambas- sadors of Middle Eastern countries, Exon urged the diplomats to pressure their governments to vote for a repeal of the resolution in the interests of "building a more trustful basis on which a more meaningful dialogue can be built." The letter, sent to ambas- sadors from Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Morocco, Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Bahrain and Algeria, did not underestimate the political problems posed by a repeal effort. "Such a resolution will re- quire nations to exhibit greater courage and flexibil- ity in their foreign policies," Exon wrote. "Many relative- ly small steps will have to be taken." So far, Exon's office reports no replies to the missive. Congress and ad- ministration official are beginning a new push to re- verse the U.N. resolution, which many see as a major obstacle in the Middle East peace process. Vice Presi- dent Dan Quayle recently made the repeal of the Zioni- sm as Racism resolution a top item on his agenda. 406%& I 0 1 a xa/aldli Forget the nursing home expense and 24 Hour Professional Staffmg makes environment.
