FRIDAY, JANUARY 12, 1990

ing in age from their 20s into
their 60s — from college
students home for winter
break to single professionals
and retirees — all passing a
pleasant evening dancing,
nibbling and visiting. For
many, it was a major oppor-
tunity to both renew old ac-
quaintances and also
establish new ones.
The crowd began gathering
before the music started at 9
p.m. and kept coming for
more than an hour after-
wards. Some hit the dance
floor in Shiffman Hall and
never stopped, while others
moved between the hall and
the lounge area. Clothing
styles ranged from the very
dressy to the very casual.
Overall, it seemed a good
way to get the-end-of-the
celebrations off to a rousing
start.
As for those who would be
happy with more such bashes
— well, the next one will be
the Center's Bar-B-Q Bash
during the summer. Hang in
there!
