Riemere also mentions that
Traum's killing was a
"senseless, inexcusable, act of
murder," then says the story
was "one of the noblest stories
of the year." Is this because an
Arab family refused to allow
the heart of their dead son to
be given to a Jew, and we did
for an Arab?
In fact, if Israel has gone to
the level that we save our
enemies, then we are lost
since we save our murderers.

The beginning of th end of
the Jews of Europe took place
in 1938 in Munich when
British Prime Minister
Chamberlain signed an
agreement with Hitler for the
Czechs to surrender land in
exchange for a promise from
Hitler that is was "my last
territorial demand."
Now we have another de-
mand for a "land-for-peace." A
Detroit area Jewish "Peace
Coalition" calls for Israel, in
exchange for a PLO promise
of peace, to surrender land for
an "independent state" for
the "Palestinian people"
("Local Activists Form Coali-
tion for Peace in the Middle
East," Dec. 29).
From 1948 to 1967, no Jews
were allowed, even to visit, in
Judea, Samaria, Gaza and
Jerusalem's Old City — and
there certainly was no peace!
Each year for those 19 years,
hundreds of Arab raids took
place across the elongated Ar-
mistice lines separating
Israel and its neighbors —
lines "guaranteed" by the
Great Powers. Day after day,
freight trains were blown up,
Jewish villages were attack-
ed, farmers were murdered in
their fields, soldiers were am-
bushed by snipers, mines
were laid as gangs came
across those lines to burn,
steal and destroy. Those at-
tacks across the cease-fire
lines cost Israel more than
700 dead and thousands
wounded.
That is the "gold-old days"
our Jewish "Peace Coalition"
wants to again inflict on
Israel.
This "Peace Coalition"
sings the same tune as the
Bush administration. The
Bush people also want Israel
to return to the way it was
before 1967, with our people
in an indefensible 10 to 15
miles wide coastal strip, with
highlands towering 2,000 to
3,000 feet above them in
hostile lands.
'Ibday, a de facto peace ex-
ists between Jordan and

Israel due to the present
border which, as a result of
the 1967 war, runs along the
great Jordan Rift Valley. Any
army, whether advancing
east or west, would have to
fight its way out of the Jordan
River flood plain, about 1,000
feet below sea level, and then
up escarpments rising almost
2,000 feet above sea level over
a distance of about six miles.
Today's border promotes
peace.

The PLO was established in
1964. Its prupose could not
have been to "liberate" what
is being called the "occupied
Arab territory." It was held by
Arabs. The PLO goal then,
and continues to be, "to wipe
Israel off the map and send
the Jews into the sea." Almost
daily, PLO spokesmen say
any land they get will be a
step toward destroying Israel.
The goal of the PLO-led
mob violence — the sending of
women and children to throw
rocks and burning gasoline
meant to kill Israeli civilians
and soldiers; the torching of
fields, crops, orchards and
forests; the cutting of
telephone and power lines —
is to destroy the Jewish state.
It is a tragedy when children
are raised to hate. But it
presents a deadly threat to
Israel. It is like the Nazi
soldiers, who also were pup-
pets of their indoctrination
and cruel masters.
Every day in Israel on radio,
television and in the news-
papers, the PLO horrors in-
flicted on Arabs are reported.
Where are the Arab states to
condemn the PLO? Where is
our State Department to
speak out against these
human rights violations?
Why is our Jewish "Peace
Coalition" silent about the
PLO atrocities against
Arabs? Why don't they con-
demn the PLO and Arab
leaders who send children in-
to battle with deadly
weapons?
There is an answer for
peace. Ignored is that a "two-
state solution" already exists.
Our Jewish "Peace Coalition"
ignores that an independent
Arab Palestine state exists.
Palestine, the Jewish na-
tional homeland, already has
been divided between Arabs
and Jews: 80 percent for the
Arabs — now Jordan — and
the remaining 20 percent for
Jews. Arab Palestine Jordan
is four times the size of
Jewish Palestine Israel, but it
has only half the population.
Arab Palestine Jordan has
lots of room for more of its
fellow Arabs.
