Swidler Shows Work By Larocque Recent ceramic sculptures and mixed media drawings by French-Canadian artist Jean-Pierre Larocque will be on view at Swidler Gallery Jan. 13 through Feb. 10. Born in Montreal, Laroc- que has been awarded several residencies in both the United States and Canada, including his recent work site at The Banff Cen- tre in Alberta, Canada. Larocque employs the gestural immediacy available in both clay and drawing media while asser- ting a personal narrative communicated through a vi- sual vocabulary of human, animal and abstract forms. Troy Art Gallery Sets 'Highlights' The Troy Art Gallery will display "Winter Highlights," Jan. 9 through Feb. 7. Selected works from the gallery collection by inter- national, national and regional artists will be on display. Artists represented are Will Barnett, Yurgen Peters, Kyoshi Saito, Kuroda, Charlotte Evans, Paula Zaka, Mathias Mulame and others.
