elected to the International
Jewish Sports Hall of Fame
for 1990, among them
Americans Larry Brown,
Olympic basketball gold
medalist, and former world
bantamweight boxing cham-
pion Charley Phil Rosenberg.
Also elected, it was an-
nounced by IJSHOF chair-
man Alan Sherman, are Ger-
man - world track and field
champion Lilly Henoch and
Hungarian Olympic gold
medalists Janos Garay and
Miklos Sarkany.
Brown, coach of the Na-
tional Basketball Association
San Antonio Spurs, former
pro basketball player and col-
lege basketball coach, was a
member of the 1964 USA
Olympic gold medal cham-
pionship basketball team.
World bantamweight
champ Rosenberg held his
crown from March, 1925, to
February, 1927, retiring his
title when he outgrew the
division.
In the late 1920s, Ger-
many's Henoch was a world
record holder in both the
discus and shot put, and was
a member of her country's
1926 world record 4 x 100
relay team. Between
1923-1926, she won 10 Ger-
man national championships
in various track and field
events.
Hungarian fender Garay, a
European and national sabre
champion, won an Olympic
gold medal in Team Sabre at
the 1928 Games. Four years
earlier, in 1924, he took a
silver in the same event as
well as a bronze in the in-
dividual sabre.
Olympic gold medals were
won by Sarkany in both the
1932 and '36 Games as a
member of the victorious

Soviet and U.S. athletes and
the emotions they generate
will be featured in "Sports
Feelings," a photographic
celebration of sports at Wayne
State University Community
Arts Gallery, Jan. 16- Feb. 21.
The first joint exhibition of
its kind, "Sports Feelings"
images are provided by Sports
Illustrated magazine and its
Soviet counterpart, Olympic
Panorama, a quarterly
magazine.
Admission is free. Hours are

concentration camps.
Since 1979, 139 athletes
and sportsmen have been
honored by the International

Israel.
