The Senior Adult Depart-
ment of the Jewish Com-
munity Center's Jimmy Pren-
tis Morris Building will hold
the following programs:
Dec. 22 — The weekly Erev
Shabbat program is held at
12:30 p.m. in Jaffe Hall. Can-
tor Max Shimansky will lead
the service.
Dec. 24 — A concert of
music and comedy with Stan
Riccardi, Maria Louisa Ellero
and accompanist, Lillian
Freedland will be offered at 2
p.m., in Jaffe Hall. There is a
charge.
Dec. 25 — Super senior
fitness will be cancelled
through Dec. 29. Table games
will be played to sharpen
math skills at 10 a.m., in the
Atrium. "Israel-Then and
Now" with facilitator Linda
Kayes is scheduled for 1 p.m.,
in Room 12.
Dec. 26 — Jewish Humor
with Francis Weinberg is of-
fered at 11 a.m., in Room 4.
The Tuesday lecture series,
Jewish Leaders New to Our
Community, will feature Rab-
bi Herschel Finman, director
of Outreach and Education
for the Lubavitch Foundation
at 1 p.m., in the Assembly
Hall. The movie classic Swing
Parade will follow the lecture
at 1:45 p.m.
Dec. 27 — The Widowed
Support Group will meet at
10:30 a.m. in Room 3. The
Wednesday Afternoon Social
will feature music and songs
at 12:30 p.m. in Jaffe Hall.
Dec. 28 — Naomi Levine
will lead a communications
discussion group at 10 a.m. in
Room 9. Press Review with Ir-
ving Herman will discuss cur-
rent events at 12:30 p.m. in
Room 15. The Thursday after-
noon video feature Annie
Hall will be shown at 1:30
p.m., in the Atrium, with a
repeat showing on Friday
morning, at 10 a.m., in the
Assembly Hall.

Chanukah Plans

In honor of Chanukah, the
Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building of the Jewish Com-
munity Center will hold
public candlelighting
ceremonies. Senior Adult
President Shirley Shiovitz
will light the first candle
12:30 p.m., Dec. 22, in the
Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building lobby.
Dec. 25, the Senior Adult
Choir will present a short pro-
gram 12:30 p.m. following the
blessing and candlelighting.
Dec. 26, children are invited
to play dreidel games im-

mediately following the 12:30
p.m. ceremony.
Dec. 27, Rabbi Gorelick will
light the candles and speak
about religious freedom.
Dec. 28, a musical program
with Cantor Klein and
Lillian Zellman will follow
the candlelighting as part of
the Culture Club's program.
Dec. 29, the Senior Adult
Departme,nt will include the
lighting of the last candle as
part of the Center's Erev
Shabbat program in Jaffe
Hall.

Transportation
Goes To JPM

Door to door transportation
to the Oak Park Jewish Com-
munity Center is now being
offered to senior adults. This
service is provided through
the cooperative efforts of the
Jewish Community Center,
the Jewish Information Ser-
vice, the Jewish Welfare
Federation and Jerome
Glassman.
Pick-up is scheduled for the
following areas: Monday —
Southfield, Detroit; Tuesday
— Oak Park; Wednesday —
Northwest Detroit, Oak Park,
Royal. Oak, Southfield,
Berkley; Friday — Oak Park,
Royal Oak, Berkley.
Passengers will be picked
up at their homes beginning
at 9:30 a.m. and return from
the Center at 3 p.m. A dona-
tion for the round trip is
suggested.

Bowling Carnival

B'nai B'rith Metropolitan
Detroit Council will host
their second annual family
bowling carnival 12:30-3:30
p.m. Dec. 25 at Drakeshire
Lanes in Farmington Hills.
The afternoon_ will include
three games of bowling, shoes,
pizza lunch, prizes and a
clown.

Holiday Concert

B'nai B'rith Metropolitan
Detroit Council will host a
Chanukah festival 8 p.m. Dec.
28 at Temple Israel. Cantor
Harold Orbach, accompanied
by Zina Shaykhet, will per-
form holiday music.
There will be a menorah
lighting ceremony and sweet
table. There is a charge.
