OMAP Exhibition
Creates Contrast

Thom Bohnert and Carol
Ann Carter share billing in
the ninth exhibition of the
Ongoing Michigan Artists
Program (OMAP) at the
Detroit Institute of Arts
through Jan. 28.
. In the gallery installation,
their work creates a dra-
matic contrast: Carter's ob-
jects are sensuous, tactile
and material-oriented;
Bohnert's constructions and
drawings are cerebral and
linear.
Carter is an art professor
at University of Michigan
and teaches courses in mixed
media. Bohnert teaches ce-
ramics, drawing and 3-D
design at Mott Community
College in Flint.

At Art Loft Gallery

For its holiday exhibition,
Birmingham's Art Loft
Gallery will present
"Images of Italy," a display
of woodblock, prints, draw-
ings and wood sculpture, by
Corinne A. Ragheb, through
Feb. 5.
Ragheb, a graduate of
Detroit's Center for Creative
Studies, studied last
summer in Florence, Italy
with artist Leonard Baskin.
