HANDLING POULTRY SAFELY

If Your Home Freezer Fails, Here are some tips on handling poultry
in your kitchen:
1. Keep raw or cooked poultry refrigerated until you're ready to use
it. Store leftovers in the refrigerator immediately after the meal.
2. Thaw frozen poultry in the refrigerator or in the microwave, then
prepare and cook it immediately.
3. Wash the poultry inside and out with water.
4. Use a plastic or ceramic cutting board when preparing either raw
or cooked poultry. When cleaning up, wash hands, cutting board,
knives, counter and other equipment thoroughly with hot, soapy water
before preparing any other food.
5. Stuff poultry just before cooking.
