From Hillel

MetroHillel will provide
free dreidels Dec. 6 at
Oakland University, Oakland
Center. This activity is part of
the Jewish Students Organi-
zation's sale of Chanukah
items, including gift wrap,
chocolate gelt and candles.
Dreidels will also be given -
away on Dec. 11 at Wayne
State University; on Dec, 13
at Oakland Community
College-Orchard Ridge; and
on Dec. 14 at Lawrence
Technological University.

MetroHillel will hold its an-
nual pre-Chanukah party for
students, faculty, staff,
families and friends, 6:30-8:30
p.m. Dec. 10 in the East
Crockery, Oakland Center,
Oakland University. There is
a charge.
Entertainment will be pro-
vided by Eli Shalom, of the
Hora Aviv Dance Troupe, who
will teach Israeli folk
dancing.

The B'nai B'rith Hillel
Foundation at the Univer-
ty of Michigan will host the
2nd annual UJA Bash 9 p.m.
Dec. 2.
At 7 p.m. Dec. 3 Hill Street
Cinema will show Scarecrow
in Russian with English
subtitles.
At 7 and 8:45 p.m. Dec. 9
the movie Swimming to Cam-
bodia will be shown.

Cultural Society
Sets Programs

The Jewish Cultural Socie-
ty, affiliated with the Con-
gress of Secular Jewish
Organizations and the
Michigan Coalition of Secular
and Humanistic Jews, will
present a program in a cam-
paign against violent toys. At
7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Jewish
Cultural Society, guest
speaker will be Joan Horton,
child development specialist.
Horton's topic will be the ef-
fects of violent toys on youth
children. For information, call

At 10 a.m. Dec. 17 at the
Jewish Center in Ann Arbor,
the society will host a
Chanukah party. There will
be games, food and a
candlelighting. Books and
candles will be for sale.
