KEEPING KIDS SMILING FOR 75 YEARS

RITA SALASNEK, 82, of
Southfield, died Oct. 31. She
leaves a son and daughter-in-
law, Lowell and Beverly of
Bloomfield Hills, a daughter
and son-in-law, Suzanne and
Sherman Mendelsohn of Bir-
mingham; brothers, Ira Fried-
man of Atlanta and Robert
Friedman of California; a
sister, Mary Friedman of
California; 11. grandchildren
and eight great-grand-
children.

DANIEL SCHECK, 60, of
Southfield, died Nov. 8. He
leaves a daughter, Nicole of
Florida; and a brother and
sister-in-law, Joseph and
Edith Scheck of Tucson, Ariz.

ULRICH WEIL, 78, a com-
mercial architect died Nov.
13. Mr. Weil was a resident of
Detroit and received his
master's degree in architec-
ture from Harvard Univer-
sity. He was a member of the
Parkinson's Support Group
and Temple Beth El. He
leaves his wife, Hilde; a
daughter and son-in-law,
Susanne and Edward
Woyciechowicz of Montana, a
son and daughter-in-law, Ray-
mond and Trish of Hyatts-
ville, Md.; a brother, Peter of
Chicago; and four grand-
children.

DR. HARRY WEISBERG,
85, of Highland Park, Ill.,
formerly of Detroit, died Nov.
7. He leaves a daughter and
son-in-law, Joan and Phillip
Pines of Highland Park, Ill.;
a sister Rose Brown of
Southfield; six grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
Services and interment in
Detroit.

LENA WOLK, 88, of Oak
Park, died Nov. 13. She is sur-
vived by her husband,
George; and nieces and
nephews.

Milton Gershgoren

Milton Gershgoren, former-
ly of Detroit, an expressionist
artist of landscapes and
figure studies, died Nov. 10.
He was 80.
He was a resident of Los
Angeles.
Mr. Gershgoren taught
painting and serigraphy and
had Harpo Marx as one of his
many students. He was an
advertising designer and
worked for Frank Sinatra's
Reprise Records. His silk-
screen prints and oil pain-
tings are in many private and
public collections.
His works have been ex-
hibited at many Art Galleries
and Art Societies throughout
the United Sstates, among

them the Detroit Institute of
Arts and the Library of Con-
gress in Washington, D.C. He
has also been the recipient of
many awards.
He leaves his wife, Beatrice;
son, Sidney of Berkeley,
Calif.; daughter and son-in-
law, Dr. Estelle and Dr. Max
Novak of Beverly Hills, Calif.;
and daughter Carol of Los
Angeles, Calif.; and five
grandchildren of metropoli-
tan Detroit. Services and in-
terment in Los Angeles.

Henry B. Frank

Henry B. Frank, 69 a
retired executive of Bulldog
Electric and ITE Circuit
Breaker on the New York
Stock Exchange, died Nov. 12.
Mr. Frank, a resident of
Southfield, also served on the
board of directors for both
companies. He was a trustee
and former vice president of
the Detroit Institute of Arts,
served on the executive com-
mittee for United Way, was
former president of the Stan-
dard Club of Detroit, a
lifetime member of Franklin
Hills Country Club and Tem-
ple Beth El.
He leaves a son, Daniel of
Birmingham; daughters and
sons-in-law, Julie and John
Bostick of Manton, Mich.;
Susan and Merrill Gordon of
Southfield; a brother and
sister-in-law, Robert and
Mary of Birmingham; a sister
and brother-in-law, Betty and
Robert Smith; and two
grandchildren.

Abraham Minowitz

Abraham A. Minowitz, 69,
chairman of the board of
Minowitz Manufacturing in
Roseville, died Nov. 8.
Minowitz Manufacturing
Company, defense contrac-
tors, was founded in 1967.
Mr. Minowitz a resident of
Bloomfield Hills, and
member of Congregation
Beth Shalom, also served on
the board of directors of Liber-
ty State Bank and Trust, the
board of directors of the
Government
Contracts
Association,
National
Management Association and
National Board
Representatives.
He leaves his wife, Carol;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Linda and Leon Buchzeiger,
Monica and Henry Sasson,
Caron Finzelver; sons and a
daughter-in-law, Mark,
Richard and Laurie Harrison,
Barry; sisters and a brother-
in-law, Eleanor Pereira,
Frances and Albert Mitchell
of Hollywood, Fla.; and nine
grandchildren.

During the coming week Yeshiva Beth Yehudah will observe the yahrtzeits of the following departed friends, with
the traditional memorial prayers, recitation of kaddish and studying of mishnayos.
