Jessie has to con- vince her father about his wife. Hannigan celebrated her 14th birthday in style — on the set. "Dan Akroyd bought me an 18-speed mountain bike, and Kim (Bassinger) gave me this gold bracelet that read, 'To Jessie, Love Celeste,' our characters' names," she said. Hannigan worked three months on the film, her first motion picture. Watching My Stepmother on the silver screen when it was finally released was exciting for Hannigan. "It's so different when you see a movie that you're in," she admitted. "It's weird, like a funny feel- ing; you can't just sit there and watch the movie; it's like you're looking at every little thing that you do (on the screen)." Before she moved to California, the former Atlantan had more than 100 photo modeling jobs and 20 commercials to her credit. And Hannigan landed four national commercials short- ly after she arrived in Hollywood — Oreos, Dodge, Louis Rich and McDonalds. Hannigan's parents have long since hung up their camera lenses. Today, her father, Al, sells prints, while her mother works as her daughter's "momager," her theatrical manager. Alhough she is an only child, Hannigan still boasts a large family: two dogs, Odie and Jessie; a rabbit, Wibur; and a cat, Garfield — who live with her and her mom in North Hollywood. Plus, she said, she and the cast from the show are "all very close. We're like a real family." If she doesn't continue ac- ting when she gets older, she said, "I'd like to be a director because I have all these ideas for doing movies and stuff. I have a camcorder, and I think I'll start by doing some home movies and mak- ing a short film. It'll be fun." ❑ • Freshly-Prepared-As-You-Watch Omelettes/Pancakes/Eggs Benedict • Lox and Cream Cheese • Bagels • Cottage Cheese • Fresh Fruits and Salads • Homemade Desserts • Homemade Breads and Muffins • Scrambled Eggs With Lox • Bacon • Sausage • Broasted Chicken • Fish • AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!
