For Boys Forming

The Detroit Maccabi Club
and the Jewish Community
Center are forming boys'
soccer teams in the -under-16
and under-13 categories
which will compete in both
indoor and spring seasons
next year.
The under-16 team will
form the nucleus of the host
Detroit entry in the 1990
North American Maccabi
Youth Games.

To Aid Maccabi

Area runners and walkers
are invited to participate
Nov. 19 in the third annual
Fun Run and Fitness Walk,
proceeds from which will
help needy Detroit
youngsters participate in
next year's North American
Maccabi Youth Games here.
The one-to-six-mile, non-
competitive event, benefit-
ting the Metropolitan
Detroit Maccabi Club's
scholarship fund, will begin
at 8:30 a.m. at Camp Ruth,
located behind the Jewish
Community Center's
Maple/Drake Building.
"We have some Detroit
kids who can't afford to pay
the entry fees," said Mark
Saidman, Fun Run and
Walk co-chairman and Mac-
cabi Club president. "We
will not refuse a child entry
as a participant because of
financial aspects alone."
Last year, some 80 runners
and walkers raised $2,000
for the fund.
