Actress Lori Wilner delivers a rivetinp, performance of World War II heroine Hannah
Senesh in David Schecter's one-woman, Off Broadway sensation.
Born in Hungary in 1921, Senesh emigrated to Palestine in 1939. She joined the
Haganah in 1942, traininp, as a parachutist and spent the next two years rescuing Allied
pilots and Jewish civilians from Nazi-occupied territories. Senesh was captured and ex-
ecuted by the Nazis in her homeland of Hungary in 1944.
Mr. Schecter has woven excerpts of Senesh's poetry and personal diaries into an ex-
traordinary theater experience. Ms. Wilner's portrayal of both Hannah Senesh and her
mother has electrified audiences from coast to coast, garnering rave reviews and
thunderous applause after every performance.
