Buber Named
Commissioner

Meir Buber has been nam-
ed Israel Trade Commissioner
to the United States.
In his new post Buber coor-
dinates export and trade ac-
tivities from the Government
of Israel Trade Center head-
quarters in New York and
overseas the commercial ac-
tivities of the regional offices
in Boston, Chicago, Los
Angeles and San Francisco.
Buber was formerly the
senior economic adviser. to
Israel Minister of Industry
and Trade, Ariel Sharon.
He served in the Israel
Navy, attaining the rank of
naval commander. During his
tour of duty, he was a com-
manding officer and served in
the operations and in-
telligence branches.

The Women's Endowment
Committee of United Jewish
Charities' Federated Endow-
ment Fund will host invest-
ment expert Lee Munder at a
noon luncheon Thursday at
the Michigan Inn.
Munder will be speaking on
"New Trends in the Financial
markets?' In 1985, he entered
into a partnership with a
larger firm to establish
Munder Capital Manage-
ment, Inc., and two years
later became totally indepen-
dent. His company reported
assets of $1.7 billion this past
March.

At Conference

The second- Biennial Con-
ference of the North
American Federation of
Secular Humanistic Jews was
held in Bethesda, Md., last
weekend.
Local residents attending
