Apparently, this is why his name is not mentioned by the writer; instead, "Lubavitch" is mentioned, and therefore we respond: There is nothing in Lubavitch-Chabad teachings or writings to corroborate the approach mentioned in the letter. All we can say is that is is impossible to know God's ways. We cannot comprehend His actions. T hree Jewish agencies are working to deliver meals to their clients and save a little money at the same time. Although no contract has been signed, the Jewish Federation Apartments, Na- tional Council of Jewish Women and Jewish Home For Aged have hired nation- al food management service Morrison Custom Manage- ment Inc. to prepare the thousands of meals each organization handles every day. Federation Apartments Executive Director Helen Naimark said neither her agency nor NCJW had any complaints with their previous food service; "they are just too expensive for us." JHA Executive Director Alan Funk suggested the three agencies combine their meal service programs, Naimark said. Because of the volume of food each agency serves daily, the three groups decided they would have better buying power and be able to save money if they combined their efforts. After searching for kosher food services, the agencies hired Morrison, which for three years has served food to the 420 JHA residents. Since August, the company has delivered meals for all three groups. The new service also saves Federation Apartments thousands of dollars, said Naimark, who did not offer details. The savings will be used to improve the agency's programs. The NCJW's Meals on Wheels delivers cold and hot meals to about 190 senior citizens daily in apartment complexes like Highland Towers, Lincoln Towers, McDonald Towers, Nor- thgate Apartments and private homes. Meals on Wheels Chair- man Sheila Guyer says the new service offers more choices for clients. Funk said he would not know how much his agency will save with the new pro- gram until he compares it with last year's figures. But even if the savings are minimal, he believes the contract is beneficial to the three agencies as a long- term, cost-effective im- provement, not just a short- term savings, Funk said. El Political Power Group To Meet WAND/Metro Detroit (Wo- men's Action for Nuclear Disarmament) will meet 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Trowbridge in Southfield. Denise Peeters-Le Boulenge, peace activist from Belgium, will speak. The public is invited. For information, call 851-0984. Health Center Offers Lecture Ford Hospital's West Bloomfield Medical Center will offer a lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday on "Self-Esteem: Your Passport For Life."
