a Polish Journey," is part of
the "Sundays at the
Midrasha" series.
Osherov's poems and stories
have been published in many
literary magazines in Israel.
She has recently worked as a
linguistic editor and cor-
respondent on one of Ha'aretz
network newspapers, Zomet-
Ha'Sharon.
Dr. Jacqueline Zeff will
speak on "Prophets and Pro-
fits — What Gives? American
Experiences of Philanthropy,"
as the last lecture in the
series, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19.

Judaism Seminar
At Oak-Woods
A five-week seminar on
teaching adults will be spon-
sored by Young Israel of Oak-
Woods and Aleynu/Aish
Halbrah. The emphasis of the
program will be to show how
to convey the importance of
identification and affiliation
with Judaism.
Rabbi Alon lblwin, educa-
tional director of Aish
Halbrah of Metro Detroit,
will address five topics:
"Treating an Adult Like a
Child," "Innocence in Ques-
tioning," "Empty Black-
board," "No Recess lbday,"
"Tag — You're It."
Topics include Shemiras
Shabbat, education, Zionism,
Jewish self-image and holi-
day celebrations.
The classes will begin
9:30 a.m. Sunday in Young

Talmud Course
At Midrasha
Registration is being ac-
cepted for "Selected Readings
from Talmudic Literature," of-
fered by the Midrasha-
College of Jewish Studies.
The course, taught by Rabbi
Rod Glogower of the Hillel
Orthodox Union and adjunct
lecturer in Judaic Studies at
the University of Michigan,
will explore the world of
Talmud through close textual
study and will meet for seven
weeks, 9:30 a.m.-noon,
Tuesdays beginning Nov. 7 at
United Hebrew Schools. The
course is available for
master's degree credit.

Hold Auction
Hillel Day School's auction
will be Saturday.
There will be a silent auc-
tion at 8 p.m. and a live auc-
tion at 10 p.m.

At Midrasha
Midrasha's Lunch and
Learn Series with Rabbi
Bruce D. Aft, has been
rescheduled. The group will
meet noon Wednesday at
United Hebrew Schools. "Liv-

World" will be the topic.

Campaign To Begin
Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz,
director of Machon ETorah,
The Jewish Learning Net-
work of Michigan will begin
a "Say Yes to Judaism" cam-
paign on Michigan's college
campuses this week. The
campaign is aimed at getting
Jewish students interested
and involved in Jewish
activities.
